ekklesia: greek word for “assembly”, derived from the verb ekkalein, formed by ek-, “out”, plus kalein, “to call, cry out”
anagoge: greek word for “elevation”, from aná-, “upwards”, plus -agogôs, “conduction”
ekklesia anagoge
is an invitation to participatory communion, a space where shared interactivity sustains the experience and encourages forms of spontaneous coherence, a collective symbol of what is animated at the center of comunal relationship.
The piece is composed by 3 interactive sculptures serving as tactile interfaces for the construction of light and sound. Each one controls a specific spectrum (red:lows/green:mids/blue:highs) simultaneously beamed onto the central paraffin sculpture and played on 3 speakers placed around and in between the interfaces. Throughout progressive modes of synchronous participation, it generates a dynamic environment filled with visual and sonic palettes expressed as the building blocks for the edification of pure light and contemplative silence.
